As a result of changes in the law which occurred in 2008 Lawyers (and staff working under them)have been able to undertake the work of selling real estate. We at PGL believe that most agents do a fine job of what they do but there is a growing feeling that many Vendors feel that real estate commissions are not the best way of ensuring that agents are remunerated for the work that they do. Also, some people have had bad experiences and they wish to avoid any repetition of them in the future.
Coupled with the changing times in which we live and the challenging real estate market we believe that the time has come to offer our clients a viable alternative to the traditional methods of selling property. PGL has therefore joined ACRES (an acronym for “A Complete Real Estate System”) so that our clients now have a choice as to how they can sell their property. As a bonus, the ACRES system is significantly cheaper than traditional commission based systems.
As Lawyers we are not allowed to charge commission on the sale of real estate – we charge only for the services rendered and the time and expertise utilized in the process. This typically means sizeable savings in selling costs for our clients.
